About the Ministry

The Office of Physical Planning is responsible for the planning, coordination, and regulation of physical development across Lagos State. Created from the restructuring of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, it ensures orderly land use and sustainable urban growth.
The Office formulates and implements physical planning policies, prepares and approves development plans at all levels, and provides technical guidance on land use and infrastructure planning. It also maintains planning data, processes layout approvals, and ensures compliance with established standards.
In carrying out its mandate, the Office supervises key agencies such as the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) and the Lagos State Informal Space Management Authority (LASISMA), while monitoring planning activities across district offices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
